The App Store Doesn’t Matter

9 December 2009 / 0 Comments

Paul Boutin wrote in “11 things I didn’t know about app development”, Most app discovery comes from viral word of mouth among customers, not from people searching app stores for something to download. I don’t know what it’s so much of a revelation to developers. The App Store is a warehouse of digital goods, a [...]

Apple Makes MMS Hot Again!

18 June 2009 / 6 Comments

I can’t believe MMS is hot again. With the iPhone 3.0 software update, everyone is talking about it and can’t wait to try it. MMS has been around for more that 7 years but so badly implemented into devices that it was simply unusable. It’s crazy! We had to wait for Apple to show these [...]

Today, Rogers has announced its data plans for iPhone 3G. With no surprise they all suck pretty bad. No Unlimited Data, No Flexible Voice Plan The iPhone 3G comes with 4 plan. 26 June 2008 / 0 Comments

I received this email notice from Apple. Apparently, the App Store is now open to submissions. The video of the “Publishing on the App Store” session from WWDC 2008 is also available on the site.

Concrete 1 – iPhone 0

19 June 2008 / 4 Comments

Yesterday nite, I dropped my iPhone on the street and it had a violent encounter with concrete. The phone works fine but the glass is completely broken. I can’t replace the glass part, because it’s glued to the LCD screen. You have to buy the whole unit that cost almost $300. I was about to [...]

The iPhone 3G adds (1) fast 3G networking, (2) GPS support, (3) affordability and (4) more services. It’s About the Platform [...]

iPhone Developer Program

9 May 2008 / 7 Comments

I received this email asking me to complete my enrollement to the iPhone Developer Program. I’m in Canada so that means Apple has now agreed to open the program to countries outside US. I had to order the program on the Apple Store for 99$. I don’t know if I’m supposed to receive something by [...]

5 Reasons Why the iPhone Is a Great Platform

23 March 2008 / 7 Comments

The iPhone SDK was released a couple of weeks ago and I waited for the dust to settle before posting anything about it. Having read every possible article and tutorial about it, I strongly believe this device has everything to reshape the mobile landscape and define new quality standards.

Time Capsule, What About Security?

28 February 2008 / 13 Comments

Time Capsule is out and ready to be shipped. Time Capsule is a new wireless backup device from Apple. It combines an Airport base station and a big hard-drive to use with Time Machine. I love wireless, and everything that can remove the clutter from my desktop. Time Capsule seems to be a great device [...]

Hacking the iPhone

23 February 2008 / 5 Comments

I was a bit jealous of not having an iPhone for myself in Canada — since there is still not deal with Rogers and Apple — so I decided to buy one directly from the US ($400) and try to hack it. A Mad World The world of iPhone hacking is quite mad. Since every [...]
