Hi, my name is Frederic Brunel. I’m CTO at WhereCloud. I have over 15 years of high-tech industry experience in building innovative technologies & products; from real-time 3D video games, iPhone applications, high-availability IT architectures to web applications.
Accomplished software engineer & architect, trainer, consultant and director, I’m also an evangelist and active blogger.
I’m located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

2009: CTO at WhereCloud. We are a talented mobile creative studio, experts in strategy, design and product development. Our mission is to We help innovative startups, big brands and businesses to go mobile. We make ideas happen.
2007: Director of product engineering at Xtranormal Technology in Montréal, Quebec, Canada. I lead the product engineering team, building a patent-pending automated 3D digital storytelling software for the masses.
2001: Software architect & engineer at IN-FUSIO / Mobilescope — a pioneer in mobile gaming services — as the software architect of an innovative high-availability gaming and delivery platform.
The platform serves million of mobile players accross the world. It was the first of its kind to allow players to purchase and download games titles from an embedded store (pretty much like the Apple App Store). The company has built its own patented mobile and server technologies based on Java and Ruby on Rails.
Being part of the Advanced Technology Group, I did research & development of next-generation mobile games taking advantage of high-speed 3G networks, accelerated 3D graphics to build real-time persistent multiplayer worlds.
2000: Software engineer at Eovia on the 3Space project, pioneering 3D technology and real-time rendering for the web.
1998: Game developer at Kalisto Entertainment on a real-time 3D racing video game 4 Wheel Thunder designed for the Sega Dreamcast. The game shipped in US and Europe and was very well received.
Early 90′s: I was involved in the underground demoscence movement in Europe. I co-founded a computer association, and organized successful demo-parties in southern France.
