Actually I was more referring to North America. Europeans has always been a big users of messaging as well as Asians, but for North Americans it was not in the habits.

Hundreds of Millions of Euros have been done in 2008 only in France with MMS, and several MMS sent in a day (you can check ARCEP reports). Maybe, thanks with the generalization of embedded cameras. So, I think they're already popular (even if can be always better).

Actually the use of MMS is mostly restricted by the quality of the network and the communication with some mobile devices (which seems to be a problem with AT&T, according to your remark).
But I agree, the iPhone has done a move forward with these feature.

I've already tested, several times, an iPhone 3G from a friend of mine, over a WE. And I think I could test the new one the next week.

But again, I never say it's a bad device. I only raise some issues that "iPhonized people" have point out on the web.
But I think also annoying that some Apple blinded fans do not accept criticism. Sure, It's not the case with you Fred ;)

One last thing, use an iPhone 3GS with OS 3.0 for about 1 week and we'll talk again.

(1) I'm not saying that, I'm relating the facts; people talk about MMS for the iPhone has the hot feature -- a proof that for most them it's something they would now use on a day to day basis.

(2) MMS has never been popular due (most of the time) to a pretty bad interface -- especially with low-end devices.

(3) Yes probably, I didn't say anything about that -- it's a non issue for me.

Please Fred, don't be too sectarian. It reminds me some "sheep people" supporting Apple with poor and fashion arguments, discarding any remarks about "the golden calf".

Actually, I don't understand what do you mean about "badly implemented". Hardware? Software?

I've an old mobile phone (Samsung SGH-E300) which runs fine
any MMS or MMS editing. Simple and Fast.

And my last remark: My very old mobile phone supports the Copy/Paste feature for years ;)
