I just got two iPhones today! My company bought a bunch of iPhones to experiment with the new things we’re working on.
We unpacked the device religiously and it’s gorgeous. Since the company is not located in the US (but in Canada), I couldn’t activate the iPhone with any AT&T plan so I had to bypass the activation process to make it work without a SIM card.
I’ve used the hacking procedure from Jon Johansen and it worked perfectly. Just a couple of minutes later and I was in business.
I’ve been able to connect the iPhone to our Wi-Fi network in a snap and I played with all cool features without any trouble — except with the YouTube app, I still have to figure out why it didn’t work.
Everything work as advertised and it’s awesome. Graphic animations runs at 60 fps without a glitch and the screen is so nice that it’s like looking at a piece of paper. The sensitivity and precision of multi-touch are impressive.
Safari works great and watching the real web on a phone is unbelievable. I’ve been working in the mobile industry for five years and i’ve never been so excited and so impressed by any other device.
It’s good to be a geek sometimes.

@dan you’re right, the phone is disabled, I don’t really care actually. The idea is to play with Safari and through Wi-Fi it’s really fast.
@macournoyer i’ll try to bring one for the next breakfast meeting!
