Espace Visuel Digital is a photo agency specialized in very high-resolution panoramic photos. I designed their website with Ruby on Rails. I initially had a lot of trouble with my installation, but I finally figured out how to solve the issue.

The website is now running quite well since a couple of month so I can officially announce it. It runs on a custom Ubuntu 6.06 installation and is hosted on a dedicated Dedibox server.

Each photo is streamed using the Zoomify technology and is composed of multiple blocks. Each photo package is about 100MB. I had to build a custom back-end so that photographers can manage photos. It is still in development but it works quite well for now.

Photos are really impressives. The original file for this one weight for about 4Gb and is processed with Stitcher on a Dual PowerMac G5 with 8Gb of RAM. It is made of tenth of different photos shot with a 22 megapixels Canon camera.
